• Monthly Motivations – September

Looking ahead to my goals for next month, I knew exactly what I wanted to focus on. I have yet to have a perfect week when my diet is concerned. I always end up sneaking half a cookie or a pack of gummies … a day. However, my goal next month is to stick to my diet completely for at least all business days. I have yet to do this … ever in my life. I think this is where the cheesy saying comes in: It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. Although overused, it’s very true. Diets are hard to stick to because they seem harsh and temporary once…

  • Finance Friday – First Full Week: How My Budget has Held Up

Much like my fitness routine when I moved to Disney, it hasn’t. 😂 Moving is always a difficult time on the wallet. You realize things you still need for your apartment, items you need for work, pieces of clothing you need to feel comfortable in your new climate or lifestyle. For me, the first thing really tripped me up. June Homes is awesome and provides a TON of things for the apartment. You do not need to bring linens (towels and sheets), furniture, cleaning supplies, dishes, and basic cooking utensils. However, I’ve had to order a lot of niche items that are not considered “basic”. Evidently, my Target bill has…

  • Life in NYC: Transitioning to the City

Moving to NYC has been a dream of mine since I was young. I had a little over a week between moving in and when my training for work started. Coincidentally, my roommates were out of town during this week. So, I had my apartment all to myself. I really had the best transition to the city because I also didn’t have to adjust to living with strangers at the same time. DAY 1 // I met up with my family who currently live in the city. They had planned the best day for us. We checked out Central Park and Columbus Circle. We then went to dinner at The…

  • Training Tuesday – How My Fitbit has Changed My Lifestyle Forever

I have gone from someone who didn’t really want to buy a Fitbit, just looking to see what all of the fuss was about, to someone who will drive home from work because I forget to put it back on after my shower. I am literally in love with my Fitbit. Because I was not completely sold on the benefits of using the product, I bought the cheapest one, the Fitbit Inspire. Along with the rubber, black band that came with the Fitbit, I also bought a cheap leather band off of Amazon to use when I would need to dress it up a little bit. Online, the band looks a little…

  • Training Tuesday – How I Got Into (and Keep Getting Into) Running

I have been trying to get into jogging since I was in high school. I’ve picked up a few tricks here and there to make running more pleasurable for me. I still don’t run that far. BUT, I do try to make an effort to run often (about four times a week). Finding the Right Time to Start Training. I find it much easier and more enjoyable to run in the Summer. I absolutely love Summer weather and actually really enjoy being a little toasty and would much rather be sweating buckets than shivering even slightly. So, I got the most difficult part of running out of the way –…

  • Finance Friday: My Plan for Living in NYC on Less Than $2,000 a Month.

I am currently preparing to move to NYC to spend a year volunteering with the organization City Year. I am SUPER excited to be doing something meaningful and important. But, another perk is getting out of the office setting I’ve spent a year and a half in. The tradeoff for doing something that I’ve been wanting to do for a really long time is that I’m going to be living pretty much paycheck to paycheck each month. This is going to be rough for a major shopaholic. But, I’ve created a pretty detailed budget plan that covers all of my necessities but also accounts for some fun activities as well.…

  • Tuesday Training – How My Workout Routine Has Changed in Quarantine

I feel like my love for fitness has been heightened during quarantine, specifically because I really don’t have anything else during my day to look forward to (other than hitting the pool). I absolutely love waking up early, starting my day, and getting exercising out of the way. In an effort to keep things interesting, I’ve been looking around for new routines and products to keep me on my toes. Here’s what I’ve been doing thus far during quarantine but I’m going to make an effort to mix it up each week and mark my progress every Tuesday. To see my previous routine, that included working out at 5AM, take…

  • My Expensive Product Wishlist

Does anyone else motivate themselves to reach their financial goals by bribing themselves with products that are currently a little pricey? As I’m starting my career, I’m using this method to keep my motivation up. I have a whole list of things that I need (more like want … but I always forget most things aren’t necessities when I have my credit card in my hand). Below are just a few of my favorites from my list. Celine Bag Who hasn’t always wanted one of these? This bag is such a classic and seems so versatile. It is literally the perfect purse for work and traveling. You can wear it…

  • Mall Holiday Shopping Tips.

Bring a Reusable Bag. I pretty much always have a reusable bad with me when I go shopping to either help me tote mymanyreturns or save some plastic. During the Christmas season, when you’re buying a lot, bringing a bag like this is especially helpful because it allows you to carry everything you’ve bought without toting around a ton of bags. You can even stick your purse in there as well. Below are some cute ones I’ve found. L.L. Bean/ Nordstrom/ Holden Bags Ditch the Jacket. I literally have never been in a mall and wished I had a jacket on. I’m usually commenting on how each store gets hotter and hotter…

  • Coworker Holiday Presents.

If you’re looking for a little holiday present for coworkers or friends that is inexpensive and fairly easy, look no further. I just made these and they took pretty much all of my Saturday. But, I think they turned out pretty cute and it ended up being a fun, Christmas movie, cookie-making, festive day. I made three types of cookies to put into the bags and added a homemade chocolate as well. I started by making the cutouts because the dough needs to be in the fridge for at least an hour and they need to completely cool before you can ice them. You can find the recipe here. I then…
