• Gilmore Girls Fashion For Today

I have been obsessed with Gilmore Girls lately and I have equally been obsessed with the duo’s fashion. It’s kind of difficult to decide if their fashion is coming back into style or if I am just really loving it because all I do is watch the show. I thought I would try to find a few pieces that reminded me of the show. But because it was filmed in the early 2000’s, it’s been a little difficult, but I did find a few bits.        I found a sweater from Madewell very similar to Rory’s in this scene. I thought these shoes from Anthropology were so similar…

  • Turtleneck Tuesday

Lately, I have been so obsessed with turtlenecks. I started liking them last winter but had a really difficult time finding them. I think they are so versatile (as whowhatwear shows) and can be worn with a skirt, jeans, under dresses, and sweaters. I think they’re becoming a bit more accessible than they were last year. I’m starting to see them everywhere. I was really excited to find that some of my favorite stores are beginning to supply this trend. Here are just a few: ~ Free People ~ This Purple Turtleneck. I just ordered this one. And also this one. ~ Madewell ~   This sweater looks so cozy. This one…

  • First SJU Basketball Game

Last Friday was the first basketball game of the season, and St. Joe’s — being a D1 school — made it kind of a big deal. I wasn’t that excited to go, but when the day came, I started to get very excited. During the game, I finally felt the school spirit that everyone talks about. Some of the cheers were kind of mean but it was in the spirit of supporting our school. It was a really, really good game and St. Joe’s ended up loosing in the last TWO SECONDS… I’m really glad I went though, I felt really at home and it was a lot of fun.

  • SO EXCITED FOR THANKSGIVING

This weekend, my friends and I just kind of hung out and I thought this weekend was going to be the hardest to get through but it actually went really quickly. I thought it was going to be difficult because we have two more weekends until Thanksgiving (next weekends the last one!). I know next weekend I’ll just be really excited to go home so that would get me through but I was a little worried about this weekend. To combat that, I asked my family to come down today and although I only saw them for a few hours, it was really, really nice. My main goal was to try…

  • G-Eazy

This weekend, my friends and I went to go see G-Eazy at the Trocadero Theatre. (Runaround Sue – G-Eazy) Runaround Sue was the first song I heard from G-Eazy. My roommate showed me him and I instantly fell in love. First of all, I absolutely love Runaround Sue by Dion. Of course, I then absolutely loved this song when I first heard it. I love remixes of old songs like Good Feeling by Flo Rida (which remixes part of Etta James’ Something’s Got a Hold of Me) and Break Your Heart Right Back by Ariana Grande (which includes part of Diana Ross’ I’m Coming Out). On the day of the concert, we…

  • Is Christmas Here?

My roommate and I started listening to Christmas music before Halloween (I’m the one who kept putting it on … I hope she doesn’t hate me!!). I’ve ordered some gifts for my family already; I have a nice collection in my closet of baby toys and teen clothes. As I’m writing this I’m listening to Christmas music. I’m just one of those people who gets really excited about Christmas. I know some people think it’s still a little too soon but I don’t care! I’m gonna do my thing!

  • Spicy Halloween

For Halloween this year, my friends and I decided to be the Spice Girls. I think we all just naturally fit our person, so there was no fighting over who wanted to be who or anything like that. Getting the costumes was super fun because we didn’t just dress up in some cheesy buyable costume, we actually built our costume on our own. It was also a bonding experience because we helped each other and when each of us found something or part of our costume came in the mail, we all got really excited and freaked out for each other. I think things like this really help a friend…

  • Carving Pumpkins

Tonight we carved pumpkins with a group I am in and I felt so festive and fall-like. We carved pi into our pumpkin … get it? But, carving pumpkins reminded me so much of home. Just the smell. At home, we usually carve pumpkins and make pumpkin seeds and watch Halloweentown or Hocus Pocus. Not only do I miss home, but I also feel like this halloweentime didn’t feel anything like halloween. I had no pumpkin spiced lattes or pumpkin cake and I only had a small amount of apple cider. I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m not home or if I’m just too preoccupied to focus on…

  • I’m Addicted to Netflix

I’ve realized since being here that subscribing to Netflix was probably the worst thing I could possibly do. If I want to procrastinate I don’t have to wait for my favorite show to come on or buy one on iTunes, IT’S JUST ON ALL OF THE TIME. I have access to all of these distractions!! It requires a lot of willpower to stay focused. My new favorite show on Netflix is Gilmore Girls. But, some of my other favorites are: Scandal The Office The Carrie Diaries Parks and Recreation Mad Men And How I Met Your Mother. There are just a few of my timewasters. But, as horrible as it…

  • Moving Too Fast?

Sometimes I get a little worried that I’m just trying to get through the weeks. Not just to go home, because I am fine with staying here. But, I feel like I’m just trying to finish something, to work towards something but I have no idea what it is. I don’t want to look back on my freshman year and not remember it because I was just trying to finish something. I loved freshman year of high school and I want to look back fondly at this time. I thought, when I started that the months were passing by like years. It’s only October but it’s already the end of…
