Because it’s the end of summer, I was looking back at some of my favorite summer outfits that I wore to work and on weekends. They feature trends that I’m really loving right now and some versatile items.
Right now, I’m in love with peplums as well as adding a little bit of flowiness to my wardrobe. This sweater is so soft and lightweight; it’s perfect for the end of summer. A piece like this is also really versatile and can be worn more casually or dressed up.
Dresses With Sneakers
I am literally obsessed with this trend. I think it makes legs look more athletic and slim and it also gives the outfit a bit of casualness. I work in a pretty casual office and would wear this outfit to work. And, if you’re someone like me, you probably like getting your steps in during lunch. These shoes allow you to do that while also keeping it dressy (with this dress).
Keeping it Simple
I love this Banana Republic dress because I think it’s so classic and timeless. It can be either dressed up or dressed down so simply. On this day, I kept it really simple, I paired it with a suede pair of Taryn Rose flats. But, to dress it up, I could have added a chunky necklace, like this one, and a pair of heels, like these.
Rustic and Feminine
One thing I love about this outfit is the femininity and detail of this Anthropologie top contrasted with the rusticness of these Gap jeans. I also love the pop of color that these Kenneth Cole sandals give.
I don’t normally have any luck at discount stores like TJMaxx. But, I found this top that matches almost perfectly with a pair of Loft pants I already own. Also, this outfit allows me to wear my Superegas to work, which is perfect for my daily walks.
Free People Tunic
I am so in love with this Free People tunic (mostly because it makes it acceptable for me to wear leggings to work). I love the combination of patterns and the colors are nice and vibrant in summer and into Fall.
These espadrilles are also one of my faves. They are such classics and go with pretty much anything. I love them so much that they are my second pair – my other pair was got too worn out after three years.
Camel and Navy
I love the color combination of camel and navy. That’s one of the reasons I love this outfit. These Madewell shoes add the camel element to the outfit. This Urban dress is so versatile and simple that it is easily adaptable into many looks.
Subtlety Emphasizing Your Waist
This linen dress is usually pretty baggy (and honestly, kind of boring). But, by adding this belt, I am emphasizing my waist, which makes it a little less boring and me look a little less shapeless.
This skirt might be a little too short for the office. But, it’s great for weekends. I love the fun, summery pattern and that it can be worn in the Summer and into the Fall and Spring. It looks great with just a tank top. Or, something a little cozier, like this Loft sweater, when the weather is a little chillier.
