• Daydreaming Vacation Outfits Part II

Take a look at the first half here. Because I’m planning on two outfits a day, for the second half of VK, I’m going to try to repeat as many pieces as I can. Day 5: Paddle Boarding and Kayaking, Mini Gulf, Casual Dinner at Home Paddle Boarding Outfit Coverup / Bikini Top / Bikini Bottom / Sandals I love this sporty swimsuit and army green is pretty much my favorite color to wear. Day Outfit Headband / Romper / Tretorns How gorgeous is this headband?!?! I built this outfit around the headband. The rest of the ensemble needed to be simple to draw attention to the hair accessory. No need to add another outfit onto the…

  • Daydreaming Vacation Outfits Part I

These past few days, I’ve been dreaming about the beach vacation my family and I go on every year. One of my favorite parts about getting ready to go is planning out my outfits. Despite not knowing if we’ll be able to go this summer, I’ve started looking around for some fun VK clothes. When I’m shopping for summer vacation outfits, I typically hit up three places to get the main things: Free People, Anthropologie, and Madewell. We usually do something fun and active during the day and then do a nice dinner at night. So, I have two outfits planned for each day. Day 1: The Drive, Lunch, Grocery…

  • Four Dressy Christmas Outfit Ideas.

One thing my family and I do every Christmas Eve is go to Christmas mass. I love looking around for my outfit ready for this occasion because I love all things Christmas and I love shopping. It’s also kind of fun to get a little dressed up in my holiday best. Below are a few of the options I considered this year. Festive Plaid Pants Navy Satin Blouse/ Red Plaid Cocktail Pants/ Navy Suede Pumps I love these Vineyard Vines pants and I think they’re so Christmasy. I actually went with them tonight, pairing them with an older, flare sleeve sweater I have, these flats, and this headband. (Take a look at my latest Anthro…

  • Mall Holiday Shopping Tips.

Bring a Reusable Bag. I pretty much always have a reusable bad with me when I go shopping to either help me tote mymanyreturns or save some plastic. During the Christmas season, when you’re buying a lot, bringing a bag like this is especially helpful because it allows you to carry everything you’ve bought without toting around a ton of bags. You can even stick your purse in there as well. Below are some cute ones I’ve found. L.L. Bean/ Nordstrom/ Holden Bags Ditch the Jacket. I literally have never been in a mall and wished I had a jacket on. I’m usually commenting on how each store gets hotter and hotter…

  • Coworker Holiday Presents.

If you’re looking for a little holiday present for coworkers or friends that is inexpensive and fairly easy, look no further. I just made these and they took pretty much all of my Saturday. But, I think they turned out pretty cute and it ended up being a fun, Christmas movie, cookie-making, festive day. I made three types of cookies to put into the bags and added a homemade chocolate as well. I started by making the cutouts because the dough needs to be in the fridge for at least an hour and they need to completely cool before you can ice them. You can find the recipe here. I then…

  • How to Style Christmas Sweaters so They’re Not So Cheesy.

Christmas sweaters are usually ALWAYS cheesy. But, there are ways to style them so that they don’t overwhelm you with their cheesiness. As it’s the week before Christmas, I’ve been brainstorming outfits that I can wear this week that aren’t too in your face, but still festive. Sweater: Modcloth Jeans: Old Loft Shoes: Supergas This Modcloth sweater is so comfy and chunky. And I love the modern twist on a classic concept. For this outfit, I was inspired by the structure of the sweater and kept the styling low key. These are some old Loft jeans. But, pretty much all Loft jeans are super soft, comfy, and flexible. The feel of these…

  • Christmas Sweaters SZN

November is over (btw, HOW?!?!?!) and it is officially, uncontroversially, Christmas Season! Who doesn’t love this time of year? One of my favorite things to do around this time is a Christmas sweater haul. I love to see all of the classic patterns and the trendy new twists designers put on their knits. This is also a lot more fun this year because I’m planning on doing Christmas sweaters every day at work the week before Christmas. So, this shopping isn’t just window. This sweater is so classic. I was watching Home Alone, which came out in 1990, and a woman in the movie has a very similar sweater. And,…

  • My Christmas Wishlist

Pretty much every year, I only have clothes on my Christmas Wishlist. This year, I’m trying to broaden my horizons and add a few extra items. But, the real surprise here will be to see if I don’t buy these items for myself before Christmas even hits. BLONDO BOOTS – I’ve heard great things about how comfy Blondo shoes are so that fact alone sealed the deal for me to put these on my Christmas list. CASHMERE SWEATER – J. Crew has so many colors in this sweater. It is such a classic that, if I don’t get it as a gift this year, I might have to bite the bullet and…

  • My Anthropologie Shopping Cart

As I was shopping around for my Thanksgiving outfit, I checked out Anthropologie’s site. I literally fell in love with every piece they’re offering this season. I love Anthro, especially around the holiday season, because they have the most intricate and unique pieces. Below are some of my cutest finds from Anthro and some of the outfits that are in the running for my Thanksgiving Day outfit. Click on each photo to add them to your cart. These sequined joggers are the definition of what I think of when I think of Anthro’s holiday collection and they’re definitely making it into my top three for Thanksgiving outfits (mostly because the…

  • Taking a Trip Home

I have been home twice so far during my program and they both have left me refreshed and excited to go back to work and, more importantly, warm weather. I am originally from Delaware and am able to experience fall when I go home, which has been nice. I also have siblings who are much younger than I am and it is wonderful to come home and visit with them. I try to stay as present in their lives as possible. This trip was very difficult to plan because I was trying to get all of my days off in a row. My location has a lot of rules when…
