• Training Tuesday – How I Got Into (and Keep Getting Into) Running

I have been trying to get into jogging since I was in high school. I’ve picked up a few tricks here and there to make running more pleasurable for me. I still don’t run that far. BUT, I do try to make an effort to run often (about four times a week). Finding the Right Time to Start Training. I find it much easier and more enjoyable to run in the Summer. I absolutely love Summer weather and actually really enjoy being a little toasty and would much rather be sweating buckets than shivering even slightly. So, I got the most difficult part of running out of the way –…

  • Tuesday Training – How My Workout Routine Has Changed in Quarantine

I feel like my love for fitness has been heightened during quarantine, specifically because I really don’t have anything else during my day to look forward to (other than hitting the pool). I absolutely love waking up early, starting my day, and getting exercising out of the way. In an effort to keep things interesting, I’ve been looking around for new routines and products to keep me on my toes. Here’s what I’ve been doing thus far during quarantine but I’m going to make an effort to mix it up each week and mark my progress every Tuesday. To see my previous routine, that included working out at 5AM, take…

  • What My Continuous Journey to a Healthy Exercising Has Taught Me.

My weight loss journey has been about four years in the making, so you could say that it started slow. I began seriously working out my Freshman year of college (and by seriously, I mean that I was working out more than I had been before, which was never). During this time, I would run 1-2 miles on the treadmill a few times a week. That led to running every day after work that summer, which slowly led to running until I burned a certain amount of calories, which then led to trying to eat less calories than I burned while running. I was not eating enough to sustain normal…

  • How I’ve Lost 15 Pounds While Keeping Cookies, Brownies, and Other Treats in My Life.

Eating healthy and clean is hard. It is very hard. I go into every week thinking that it will be the week that I have a perfect diet. But, I continue to not be able to stop myself from cheating a little bit along the way. However, after five months, I have lost a little over 15 pounds. I would have loved to lose weight a little bit faster. But, I have had a history with dieting a little bit too extremely. This time around, I wanted to create a lifestyle that was attainable and something that I could stick to for the rest of my life. This meant that…

  • Transitioning to Post Grad

The Disney College Program was basically my way of extending college a little bit longer. I loved having the chance to experience of living with other people and having more of a college lifestyle, even after graduation. During the program, I was surrounded by others who were motivated, excited about their future, and interested in the same things as me. We all enjoyed the nightlife in Orlando, were stressed about planning our futures, and were constantly taking advantage of basically living in Disney World. Since coming home, my life has changed drastically. Almost immediately, I got a job processing payments for a company that handles business domains. It is hopefully…

  • How My Exercise Routine Has Held Up During My Program

It hasn’t. I have never really been a sporty person. However, I have been an avid gym goer for about five years. This summer, though, I really stepped my fitness up into high gear and was exercising about five days a week. I went to a gym where a trainer would lead HIIT workouts and I found this workout really fun and I actually stayed with it the whole summer. Before I started this class, I would normally run every day after work. I would dread this workout every day to the point of getting nauseous until it was done. And, I wouldn’t see much of a difference in weight…
